Dear Legionaires: Members of The American Legion join together in camaraderie and fellowship for "God and Country". Our mission is one of support to those that have already given so much for their country, our fellow Veterans. The American Legion is in direct support of the community, state and nation that you and your family are a part of daily. BUT.... Without members there would be no Legion programs. Without members we would have no voice in Washington. Without members there would be no accomplisment in assistance and support o veterans, their families, our community, state and nation. Membership is the lifeblood of The American Legion. We must make aware and offer every eligible veteran the opportunity to be part of this great organization. We are all responsible for recruiting and retention. We must be knowledgeable of The American Legion and its many sponsored programs. We need to be able to tell other veterans why they should belong. This responsibility falls upon all our shoulders. We need to ASK every eligible veteran to join or renew his or her membership.
